I am Bradford Goodis, and I write and illustrate the Impers Go series. My goal is to create a resource where children of all ages can learn about the world in a fun and exciting way. Leo goes to Rio is just the beginning. I believe these books will inspire the imagination, make readers more appreciative of other places, and curious about the human beings who live there. The stories we read when we are young leave a profound impression. The picture books I loved as a child still have a nostalgic effect on me. I have them on my bookshelf, and their characters imprinted on my coffee mugs. The Impers Go can have that same result, but with the additional benefit of the location being somewhere tangible we can learn more about and aspire to visit one day. Let’s go!
I grew up in Philadelphia where my parents and mentors encouraged me from a young age to explore the world. After attending the University of Denver, I transferred to the University of Miami and studied journalism. I then briefly lived in San Diego before permanently settling in Los Angeles. The Impers Go series came to me one day while thinking about my late father whose name was Blaine and reflecting upon my adventures in Spain. My mind connected Blaine to Spain then started linking other names to cities and countries, eventually forming this concept. Check out Leo goes to Rio and also join the mailing list to get my next release free and know when new books are coming out. Thank you.
